Biography:

Professor Zhixin Wang is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao
Tong University, China，and conducts research in the areas of wind power, photovoltaic generation
and control technology, distributed generations of smart grid and intelligent distribution system,
motor control system and energy-saving system.

Professor Wang received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. at Zhejiang University, China in 1985, 1988 and
1994, served as deputy director of the Department of Electrical Engineering, vice President of the
Shanghai Society for Hydropower Engineering, a member of the committee of experts of
Shanghai New Energy Industry Association and also as a member of Renewable Energy Special
Committee and Mathematical Special Committee of Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering,
China Instrument Society of testing instruments Branch.

Professor Wang granted 30+ invention patents, 20+ utility model patents and 1 appearance design
patent, and is responsible for more than 5 scientific research projects, such as Research on Key
Technologies of VSC-HVDC Converter for Offshore Wind Farm Grid Integration supported by
National Natural Science Foundation of China, Research and development on intermittent power
sources grid-connected planning and random process analytical technology supported by National
863 Program of China, etc.

Professor Wang received much award and honor. For example, ten projects, such as the key
technology and application of user interface for smart grid, etc., were awarded the First Class
Award of China petroleum and chemical industry automation science and technology Award, etc.
